Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mastercam Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs using Mastercam software to operate advanced machining equipment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the production of high-quality components, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to strict specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery and cutting-edge CAD/CAM technology in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to manufacturing excellence.

Duties

Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam software for various machining operations including milling, turning, and 5-axis CNC machines.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures on machines such as CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC milling equipment.
Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters based on material type, geometry, and machining requirements.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality.
Collaborate with engineering teams to review CAD models created in SolidWorks or CATIA for manufacturability and optimize tool paths accordingly.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and process improvements following lean manufacturing principles.
Troubleshoot machining issues promptly to minimize downtime while ensuring safety standards are upheld during all operations.

Requirements

Proven experience in CNC programming with Mastercam software in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for design review and collaboration.
Familiarity with various CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, 5-axis CNC machines, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control of machined parts.
Experience with CAM programming software for efficient tool path generation aligned with lean manufacturing practices.
Ability to read schematics, schematics diagrams, and utilize precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mechanical aptitude combined with a strong understanding of machining tools setup and operation.
Excellent math skills necessary for accurate programming and measurement calculations.
Knowledge of CNC tooling selection and geometry considerations for metal machining applications.
