Job Summary
LaserStar Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Wire Harness Assembler to fabricate, assemble, inspect, and test electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies used in industrial laser, photonics, motion-control, and automation systems. The position requires precise workmanship, the ability to follow drawings and work instructions, and hands-on experience with wire preparation, crimping, soldering, connector assembly, labeling, routing, and continuity testing. The Wire Harness Assembler plays an important role in ensuring that electrical assemblies meet engineering specifications, workmanship standards, safety requirements, and production schedules.
General Accountabilities
· Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, cable drawings, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and production travelers.
· Measure, cut, strip, prepare, route, bundle, and label wires and cables according to engineering specifications.
· Crimp terminals, contacts, ferrules, lugs, and splices using approved hand or pneumatic tooling.
· Assemble and terminate connectors, backshells, strain-relief devices, heat-shrink components, sleeving, and protective coverings.
· Perform soldering and desoldering of wires, terminals, connectors, and related electrical components as required.
· Build wiring harnesses and cable assemblies using fixtures, boards, templates, drawings, and visual work instructions.
· Inspect completed harnesses for correct wire size, color, length, pin location, polarity, routing, labeling, crimp quality, solder quality, and overall workmanship.
· Perform continuity, point-to-point, polarity, and basic electrical tests using digital multimeters, continuity testers, or dedicated test fixtures.
· Identify and report discrepancies, damaged materials, drawing conflicts, workmanship defects, and nonconforming components.
· Rework or repair wiring harnesses and cable assemblies in accordance with approved instructions and quality requirements.
· Maintain component and material traceability and accurately complete production, inspection, and test documentation.
· Follow electrostatic-discharge controls, safety procedures, quality requirements, and applicable workmanship standards.
· Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering personnel to resolve assembly issues and improve manufacturing processes.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly care for tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
· Meet established production schedules while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 5 year of experience assembling wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical assemblies, or closely related electromechanical products.
· Experience cutting, stripping, crimping, terminating, labeling, routing, and bundling wire and cable.
· Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, cable drawings, bills of materials, and written work instructions.
· Experience using hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, heat guns, torque tools, and digital multimeters.
· Basic soldering skills and the ability to produce consistent, acceptable electrical connections.
· Ability to distinguish wire colors, markings, connector positions, and small components accurately.
· Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
· Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience manufacturing wiring harnesses or cable assemblies for laser, photonics, optics, motion-control, robotics, medical-device, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability equipment.
· Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 cable and wire-harness workmanship requirements.
· J-STD-001 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or certification.
· Experience with Molex, TE Connectivity, Amphenol, D-subminiature, circular, ribbon-cable, or similar connector systems.
· Experience with low-voltage power, signal, sensor, motor, encoder, communication, and control wiring.
· Experience using automated or dedicated harness-testing equipment and documenting test results.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing or quality-management environments.

Physical Demands
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailed assembly work.

· Ability to lift and carry materials or assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to bend, reach, and move between workstations as required.
Pay: $21.00 per hour
