Job Title: MIG Welder – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Duration: 12+ Months (Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift Timings: (2:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
Schedule: 4 Days per Week
Pay Range: $19.00/hr to $20.00/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced MIG Welders / Fabricators to join our production team. This role focuses on welding and fabricating sheet metal components used in the manufacturing of air handling equipment and related products.
This is not repetitive production welding. We are looking for skilled fabricator-welders who can independently read blueprints, perform precise fit-ups, and produce clean, high-quality welds on thin gauge materials.
Candidates must have both MIG welding AND fabrication experience. TIG-only experience is not acceptable.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) welding on thin gauge steel and/or aluminum
Fabricate, fit, and assemble sheet metal components per blueprints and specifications
Conduct precise fit-ups and ensure proper alignment before welding
Grind, blend, and clean welds to meet quality and cosmetic standards
Inspect completed welds for accuracy and structural integrity
Safely move fabricated items between workstations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a MIG welder and fabricator
Experience welding thin gauge steel and/or aluminum
Strong blueprint reading skills
Experience performing metal fit-up
Proficient with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, micrometers, tape measures)
Skilled in grinding, finishing, and inspecting welds
Ability to weld cleanly, neatly, and accurately
Must be able to pass a weld test
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sheet metal manufacturing
Background in HVAC or air handling equipment fabrication
Familiarity with TIG (GTAW) welding in addition to MIG
(TB-ADT)
