JDX Pharmacy & Home Medical Equipment is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused California Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist with pharmacy-related duties in accordance with California law, California State Board of Pharmacy regulations, company policies, and applicable federal requirements.
All technician duties must be performed within the scope of practice of a California pharmacy technician and under the direct supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will not perform duties requiring the exercise of a pharmacist's professional judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process new and refill prescription requests.
- Accurately enter prescription, patient, prescriber, allergy, insurance, and other required information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Retrieve medications and products from pharmacy inventory.
- Count, pour, measure, package, and prepare medications for pharmacist verification.
- Generate and affix prescription labels.
- Prepare prescriptions for final review and verification by the pharmacist before dispensing.
- Process third-party insurance claims and assist with rejected claims, refill-too-soon messages, prior authorization communications, coordination-of-benefits issues, and other billing matters within the technician's permitted scope.
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, prescriber offices, insurance companies, wholesalers, and other authorized parties as appropriate and within the technician's permitted scope of practice.
- Refer all clinical questions, drug-utilization concerns, counseling requests, therapeutic questions, and matters requiring professional judgment to the pharmacist.
- Assist customers at the pharmacy counter and by telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Process prescription payments and pharmacy transactions accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles, prescription records, and required documentation.
- Assist with prescription pickup, delivery coordination, and other workflow activities.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating inventory, monitoring expiration dates, and processing returns.
- Assist with return-to-stock procedures and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the pharmacy work area.
- Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures related to patient privacy, HIPAA, medication security, controlled substances, quality assurance, and workplace safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information.
- Wear identification clearly identifying the employee as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Perform other lawful, nondiscretionary pharmacy technician duties assigned by the pharmacist or pharmacist-in-charge.
Scope of Practice
The Pharmacy Technician must:
- Work under the direct supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist as required by California law.
- Perform only duties authorized for a pharmacy technician under applicable California and federal law.
- Immediately refer matters requiring clinical evaluation, patient counseling, therapeutic judgment, or other professional pharmacist judgment to the pharmacist.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, and pharmacist instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted California Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a pharmacy team.
- Reliable attendance and professional conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or community pharmacy experience.
- Experience with pharmacy management software and prescription processing.
- Experience processing third-party insurance claims and resolving claim rejections.
- Knowledge of pharmacy inventory and ordering procedures.
- Experience working in an independent pharmacy.
- Experience with long-term care pharmacy services, medication packaging, delivery coordination, or DME/HME is a plus.
- National pharmacy technician certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
The position may require the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
- Perform repetitive hand and computer tasks.
- Bend, reach, and retrieve pharmacy inventory.
- Safely lift and move items consistent with the requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodation when required by law.

Compensation
Pay Range: starting at $22 per hour*
