Associate Patient Services Specialist at Queen of the Valley Medical Center Hospital. This position is Part time and will work 8-hour Variable Shifts.

Performs all registration functions for patients. This includes collecting accurate demographic information, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, obtaining authorization/pre-certification for services provided, and collecting patient liability prior to or at the time of service. Greets and serves patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote sacred encounters. Performs duties under moderate supervision.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Completion of a medical terminology class, or equivalent educ/experience
ROP, Or
2 years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding.
Coursework/Training: Successful completion of the Patient Access Training modules within 90 days of obtaining position.
1 year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clerical experience in a medical setting.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
