Full Job Description

Fund Controller

Petaluma, CA (On-Site with some remote flexibility)

A growing real estate investment firm in Sonoma County is adding a Fund Controller to take ownership of fund-level accounting and reporting across a multi-entity portfolio.

This role is less about maintaining the status quo—and more about bringing structure, consistency, and long-term scalability to an already successful platform.

About the Role

You’ll be stepping into a position with strong fundamentals already in place, with the opportunity to tighten reporting, refine processes, and create a more streamlined financial environment across the organization.

The role requires someone comfortable operating both in the details and at a higher strategic level , with direct exposure to leadership and visibility across the business.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Leading fund-level accounting and financial reporting across multiple real estate investments
Managing and reviewing consolidations and fund rollups across entities
Overseeing capital activity , including investor contributions, distributions, and allocations
Producing and enhancing investor reporting
Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all financial data
Identifying opportunities to improve reporting workflows and internal processes
Coordinating audits and working alongside external tax partners
Overseeing property-level accounting functions (internal and/or third-party)
Managing and optimizing Yardi and related systems
Supporting and mentoring accounting staff, as needed

What You Bring

Demonstrated experience in real estate fund accounting
Strong background in fund rollups and multi-entity consolidations
Proficiency with Yardi
Solid understanding of partnership structures and investor allocations
Ability to assess current processes and implement improvements
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across teams and leadership
