Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to join our family owned business providing assistance to individuals in their own homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion, ensuring clients receive attentive patient care while fostering a warm and respectful environment. Your efforts will directly enhance the quality of life for those you serve, making a meaningful difference every day.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Support patients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety.
Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions closely to detect any changes or concerns, documenting findings accurately in client log books.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking.
Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental health and social interaction.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks.
Support families by communicating effectively about care progress, changes in condition, and any concerns related to the client’s health or safety.

Skills

Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia.
Strong knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification.
Familiarity with assisted living environments, nursing homes, hospice care, geriatrics, and home health settings.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and social workers effectively.
Experience creating or following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality of all client information.
Ability to assist with personal transportation needs safely for appointments or errands.
Skilled in providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and supporting residents with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
