Job Summary
Full Time Groom/Barn Hand
Lawton Stables offers a full-service state-of-the-art boarding facility in addition to a year-round Trail Riding operation. Currently, we house 20-24 privately boarded horses in addition to our 50+ horse trail herd. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible care for all of our animals and expect nothing but the best from the employees entrusted with their care.
We are looking for a long-term dedicated groom/farm hand to join our team as soon as possible. Duties will revolve around cleaning and horse care. This is NOT a riding position.
*Requirements*
Must be 18 years or older
Must have reliable transportation and able to commute
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Must have prior experience caring for horses
Must be reliable and on time
General Duties
Clean out stalls, clean water buckets, fill buckets and feed horses
Turn out horses each day – clean water buckets in paddocks
Maintain stall and barn cleanliness
Clean and organize tack, feed and store rooms as needed
Administer medicines, wraps, blankets, etc. as needed
Assist with laundry service as needed
Night check (PM feeding, turnout)
Hours
40 hours per week (4 ten hour days)
Schedule: 4 days a week, nights and weekends sometimes required

- horse care: 2 years (Required)
