We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Records Technician to join our growing, progressive practice. A large, well-established pulmonary and critical care medicine practice, our 14 physicians and 10 physician extenders offer the most advanced medical care and services for patients throughout southeast and coastal Georgia. Our focus is on building strong, collaborative relationships between our physicians, our staff and our patients for improved patient care and safety. As a Southeast Lung Associates’ Medical Records Technician, you would be responsible for assembling patient information into the patients’ medical chart in an accurate and complete manner including patient symptoms and medical history, exam results, X-ray reports, lab tests, diagnoses and treatment plans. Medical records may be in both electronic and paper forms. Primary duties include scanning documentation into Electronic Medical Records (“EMR”) software, responding to chart audit requests, adding patient appointments for procedures, answering phone calls and making appointment reminder calls. You will also be asked to pick up and drop off medical files (e.g., CDs, charts, films, etc.) as needed from hospitals, referring physicians, offices, etc. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Records Technician with electronic medical record experience, solid knowledge of charting guidelines and patient scheduling procedures. We offer comprehensive training and support.
