Full Job Description

This job pays $1,500 a week because it is hard! Most commonly know as the BC, This position could easily be known as the Owners " RIGHT HAND MAN"! The perfect candidate will have great people skills, Awesome Team Building skills, and the kind of manager who jumps in and shows everybody...not just a " Desk Jockey."

The Job for the FedEx BC:

You are the on-site leader of our FedEx Ground terminal in Savannah, running 12 to 16 routes a day. You report to our General Manager and you own everything that happens at the terminal.

Mornings start at 7:00 a.m. Confirm who showed up, cover call-outs, and get every route out the door with the right driver, truck, scanner, and equipment. Walk the yard and the belt. Meet with the mechanic about down trucks. Fix load problems before they leave the building.
During the day, monitor your drivers: service metrics, in-cab safety cameras, customer issues. Send help early when a route falls behind. Coach in real time.
At night, build tomorrow's route plan, document the day's problems, and brief the General Manager.
People are most of the job. You hire drivers, train them on day one, coach them daily, discipline them when needed, and keep the good ones. Turnover is the enemy and you are the defense.
When you are short a driver and there is no other option, you run the route yourself. That means lifting up to 75 pounds and holding a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibility runs seven days a week. Saturday nights and Sundays until about 9 p.m. are normally yours.

You will not be on your own. Behind you: a General Manager who backs your decisions, an Office Coordinator handling the paperwork, an in-house mechanic keeping trucks on the road, an assistant manager (your lead driver) working beside you every morning, and an involved owner.

The Ideal Candidate for the FedEx BC:

Great operations are built by leaders who genuinely care about their people. We are not hiring someone to survive turnover; we are hiring someone to build a team of drivers who stay, take pride in the work, and build a career here. You set that tone by example.

What we cannot train, and what you must already have:

Proven experience hiring, coaching, disciplining, and retaining drivers or similar hourly employees in a high-turnover operation
Years of early mornings where the plan broke before dispatch and you fixed it anyway
Real safety and DOT compliance experience, taken personally, not delegated

Backgrounds that fit: Amazon DSP operations manager, residential or commercial collection route supervisor (Republic, WM, local haulers), uniform or linen delivery, food distribution, pest control, or comparable last-mile operations.

This is a drug-free workplace. All hires pass a drug screen.

$1,500 per week ($78,000 per year), salaried

This beats what most DSP and route supervisor roles offer. That is on purpose. The work is demanding and we pay for people who can carry it.
