Full Job Description

Join a respected local CPA firm where your experience matters.

Ernest Sewell, CPA is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our growing practice in Bluffton, South Carolina. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, preparing high-quality tax returns, and working in a collaborative, professional environment without the demands often found in large public accounting firms.

Responsibilities:

Prepare federal and state individual, business, trust, and partnership income tax returns.
Prepare financial statements and related accounting reports.
Assist clients with bookkeeping and accounting matters.
Work with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop to maintain accurate financial records.
Review client financial information and identify opportunities for tax planning and process improvements.
Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and provide exceptional service.
Assist during tax season while supporting clients throughout the year.

Qualifications:

5–10 years of public accounting experience required.
Strong experience preparing income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Experience preparing financial statements.
Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
CPA license is preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a small, team-oriented office.
