Survey Field Technician

MJ’s office in Clifton Park, NY is seeking full-time Survey Technicians with no experience in land surveying required, willing to train the right candidate. Are you tech savvy? Enjoy the outdoors? Then this position might be for you! The candidate will work within a two-person survey field crew. Please view our website to see all the latest technology MJ utilizes www.mjteam.com.

The candidate must possess the following characteristics/knowledge:

U.S. Citizen

Valid driver’s license

Associate’s degree, preferred, High School Diploma or GED

Highly motivated

Detail-oriented

Strong interpersonal and organization skills

punctual

ability to multi-task

ability to follow directions

general mathematical skills

MJ handles a wide range of project types for public and private sector clients. Projects within this position will include, but are not limited to:

field crew oversight and management

utility and right of way record research

construction stakeout

boundary survey

topographic survey

transportation survey

utility survey

3D laser scanning

Photogrammetric and mobile LIDAR control

Familiarity with the following is helpful but not required:

total stations

data collectors,

GPS equipment and

robotic instruments

use of static laser scanners their operation and basic processing

Microstation and/or Autocad CAD platforms

General traverse reduction and computation.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship

Pay is based on applicant’s ability and will be rated accordingly.
