JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Controller the Accounting Clerk supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process vendor invoices by matching to purchase orders, verifying coding, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments via check, ACH, and electronic payment methods.
Generate and distribute customer invoices, verify billing accuracy, apply customer payments, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
Monitor vendor and customer accounts, reconcile statements, investigate discrepancies, and assist with collections and account inquiries.
Process daily cash receipts, including check and ACH payments, reconcile cash batches, and assist with bank reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain organized accounting records and documentation while supporting internal and external audit requests.
Prepare aging reports, communicate outstanding balances to management, and help ensure timely collection of receivables.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, special projects, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Associate degree in accounting or related field, with 2 years of experience in accounts payable and account receivable or equivalent education and experience.
Experience with invoicing, payroll support, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP is preferred.
