Full Job Description

Company Overview

Emerald City Athletics is dedicated to leading our members in the Seattle area towards holistic health by helping them achieve their desired fitness results. With a vision to inspire transformation and strengthen our community, we focus on excellence, discipline, and courage in all our endeavors.

Compensation: $60,000/year
Schedule: 25 coaching hours per week + 15 admin hours
Availability Required: Morning and Evening shifts
Locations: Multiple gym locations (travel between locations required)

Overview:

We’re looking for a dynamic, experienced, and community-driven Group Coach to lead high-quality training sessions across multiple gym locations. This full-time salaried position combines on-floor coaching with key leadership responsibilities, including

member engagement and coach development.

You’ll be part of a program that is fitness-agnostic — we embrace a wide variety of tools and methods, from barbells and kettlebells to TRX and dumbbells — with a shared commitment to helping people move better and live healthier.

Key Responsibilities: Coaching (30 Hours/Week)

Coach high-energy group fitness classes that accommodate all ability levels.
Deliver effective and scalable workouts using a broad range of equipment and modalities.
Ensure safe, technically sound movement patterns with clear cues and corrections.
Foster strong relationships with members and a positive, inclusive gym culture.

Admin & Training (15 Hours/Week)

Conduct member outreach and nurture (goal calls, progress check-ins, retention).
Support and mentor new or developing coaches through observation and feedback.
Assist in maintaining consistency of coaching quality and program delivery across locations.
Participate in ongoing education and implement best practices across coaching staff.

Qualifications:

2+ years of coaching group fitness, functional training, or strength & conditioning.
Knowledge of Olympic lifts is required.
Experience with CrossFit is a plus.
Confident coaching with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and TRX.
Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
CPR/AED certified; relevant fitness certifications (e.g., CF-L1/2, NASM, ACE, USAW) preferred.
Must be comfortable working morning and evening shifts across multiple locations.
