About Us
Voyager Manufacturing is a precision CNC machining company serving aerospace, defense, and high-tech industries. We pride ourselves on solving complex machining challenges, delivering high-tolerance parts, and continuously investing in advanced equipment and automation. Our culture values craftsmanship, innovation, and growth.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead CNC Programmer with strong experience in Mastercam and multi-axis machining. The ideal candidate is hands-on—capable of both programming and running parts on the floor—while also mentoring machinists and driving process improvements. This role is pivotal to scaling our capabilities and ensuring efficiency in high-mix, low-volume production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis or LATHE machining centers.
- Set up, prove out, and run prototype and production jobs with tight tolerances.
- Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies to maximize efficiency and part quality.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer requirements.
- Train, mentor, and support machinists in setups, offsets, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in programming standards, feeds/speeds, and process documentation.
- Support integration of automation (robotic tending, zero-point fixturing, etc.) to enable lights-out machining.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
- Mastery of Mastercam (multi-axis required; SolidWorks or other CAM is a plus).
- Strong machining background: capable of operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC mills/lathes.
- Knowledge of GD&T, precision tolerances, and aerospace materials (aluminum, stainless, Inconel, titanium, plastics).
- Leadership qualities—able to take ownership of projects and guide a small team.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay and benefits (health, dental, vision, life).
- Great work-life balance.
