Overview
Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as an Environmental Services Housekeeper and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are sanitized to the highest standards, supporting infection prevention efforts, and creating a comfortable space for staff, residents, visitors, or guests. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help uphold our organization’s reputation for excellence in cleanliness and sanitation.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, hallways, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and chemical agents.
Handle chemical agents safely by following OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and proper handling procedures.
Use manual handling techniques to lift, move, and position cleaning equipment or supplies safely, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Maintain floor care standards by sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure surfaces are spotless and slip-free.
Follow strict sanitation protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections and support infection control policies.
Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers or buffers with safe lifting practices and proper training.
Document completed tasks accurately and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.

Requirements

Experience with hospital or healthcare facility cleaning protocols is beneficial.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices.
Strong commitment to sanitation standards and infection prevention measures in healthcare settings.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules and protocols.
