Experiential Retail & Social Media Coordinator
True West Hats is more than a retail store—it is a working design studio where craftsmanship, storytelling, personal style, and genuine connection come together. Located in Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village in Sedona, we create heirloom-quality handmade hats and guide each guest through a thoughtful, highly personalized design experience.
We are seeking a creative, outgoing, and dependable person for a combined experiential retail and social media role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, has a strong sense of personal style, and can translate meaningful in-store moments into engaging digital content. The job requires 75% retail sales and 25% social media.
This is a hands-on position. You will spend part of your time guiding guests through the True West Hats experience and part of your time creating and managing content that brings our store, products, artists, and stories to life online.

We provide training in our products, materials, craftsmanship, styling, and custom design process.
Experiential retail responsibilities:
- Welcome each guest and create a warm, personalized studio experience
- Guide clients through the custom hat design process
- Help guests select flattering shapes, colors, proportions, hatbands, and finishing details
- Share the stories, materials, and craftsmanship behind our hats
- Introduce guests to our curated collection of handmade bags, boots, jewelry, and accessories
- Build lasting relationships with local clients and visitors
- Support special orders and client follow-up
- Contribute to individual and storewide sales goals
- Maintain a beautiful, organized, and elevated studio environment
- Support merchandising, opening and closing duties, events, and daily store operations
- Communicate professionally and contribute positively to the entire team
Social media and marketing responsibilities:
- Help develop and maintain a practical monthly content calendar
- Create, schedule, and publish content for Instagram and Facebook
- Produce Reels, Stories, posts, and other short-form video content
- Photograph and film hats, accessories, customers, artists, events, and the design process
- Capture authentic behind-the-scenes moments in the store and workshop
- Write captions and promotional copy that reflect the True West Hats voice
- Promote seasonal campaigns, new products, events, and collaborations
- Engage thoughtfully with comments, messages, and relevant community accounts
- Repurpose content across social media, email, blog posts, and product pages
- Coordinate with the owners on marketing priorities and upcoming promotions
- Track basic performance, including reach, engagement, website traffic, inquiries, and sales
- Recommend improvements based on results and customer response
Ideal experience:
Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful:
- Boutique, luxury, or experiential retail
- Fashion, personal styling, art, jewelry, interior design, or hospitality
- Social media management for a lifestyle, tourism, fashion, or independent brand
- Instagram, Facebook, Canva, and short-form video editing
- Product or lifestyle photography
- Copywriting and brand storytelling
- Shopify or email marketing
Formal marketing education is not required. Strong creative judgment, people skills, reliability, initiative, and demonstrated ability matter most.
Schedule and compensation:
- Regular in-person availability at our Tlaquepaque store is required
- Weekend and seasonal availability is important
- Some scheduled off-floor time will be provided for content planning and editing
