Full Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable AP/AR Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, supports month-end close activities, and helps maintain the financial integrity of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
Match purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
Schedule and prepare check runs or electronic payments.
Resolve vendor discrepancies and respond to inquiries.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

Generate and send customer invoices.
Record incoming payments via check, ACH, or credit card.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts.
Apply payments to correct customer accounts.
Work with sales or operations to resolve billing issues.

General Accounting & Support:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Support payroll processing or journal entries as needed.
Provide financial reports or summaries to management upon request.
File and organize financial documents for audit readiness.

Qualifications:

Required:

2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage).
Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
Strong Excel skills and data entry accuracy.
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity.

Preferred:

Experience with job costing, inventory, or project-based accounting.
Knowledge of sales tax and/or multi-state compliance.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Office setting with regular computer and phone use.
Occasional lifting of boxes or files up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
