Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in financial software, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
Perform data entry tasks related to payroll and human resources functions.
Assist in the preparation of reports for management regarding payroll expenses.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Manage the general ledger accounting related to payroll transactions.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of payroll processes.
Utilize financial software such as Paychex, Workday, or Ceridian for payroll processing.
Collaborate with the human resources department on employee-related inquiries.

Qualifications

Proven experience in payroll processing or a similar role is preferred.
Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles and technical accounting practices.
Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Experience with financial software applications; knowledge of Paychex, Workday, or Ceridian is a plus.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
