Salary: $93,000–$100,000 per year (DOE/DOQ)
Schedule: Full-Time, 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM), 3–4 days per week. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and provide emergency shift coverage as needed.

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Designated Crisis Responder (DCR)/Crisis Intervention Clinician to join our Crisis Intervention Services team. In this role, you will provide crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and case management services to adults, children, and families experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will respond to community-based crises, conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, facilitate hospitalization when appropriate, and support individuals in achieving stabilization while maintaining community safety.
Following completion of Washington State DCR training, this position will also perform involuntary commitment investigations and evaluations in accordance with applicable Washington State statutes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide mobile crisis intervention and stabilization services in community settings.
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and crisis evaluations.
- Perform telephone and face-to-face crisis screening and triage.
- Develop individualized safety plans and treatment recommendations.
- Provide crisis case management and brief therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with internal clinical staff and community partners to coordinate care.
- Facilitate psychiatric hospitalization authorizations and extensions when needed.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support fellow clinicians through consultation and joint outreach efforts.
- Monitor and respond to Crisis Alerts as assigned.
- Provide detailed shift reports to team members and participate in staff meetings.
DCR-Specific Responsibilities (Upon Successful Completion of State Training)
- Conduct involuntary commitment investigations and evaluations under RCW 71.05, RCW 71.34, and RCW 70.96B.
- Complete required DCR documentation, petitions, and court-related processes.
- Monitor and petition for Less Restrictive Alternatives (LRA) when appropriate.
- Conduct additional behavioral health evaluations, including jail-requested, court-ordered, school-requested, and intake evaluations.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Theology (with appropriate coursework), or a related behavioral health field; or
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of two years of psychiatric nursing experience.
Required Licensure/Eligibility
Must qualify as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) in Washington State and meet one of the following:
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
- Psychologist
- Psychiatrist
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)
- Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker
- BSN with two years of psychiatric experience
- Advanced degree and qualifying supervised experience consistent with Washington State MHP requirements
Required Certification
- Ability to complete agency-sponsored Washington State DCR training within 90 days of employment.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to provide immunization records for MMR, Varicella, COVID-19, Tdap, and current influenza vaccination. Hepatitis B vaccination is encouraged and available at no cost through the agency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of crisis intervention experience.
- Previous experience in emergency behavioral health, mobile crisis response, psychiatric services, or community mental health.
