Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Warren, Ohio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects involving precision welding, detailed fabrication, and expert fitting for our AutoParkIt™ fully automated parking systems. As a vital team member, you’ll create components, assemble structures, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards, directly contributing to innovative parking solutions that double capacity in the same space as traditional structures. Key Responsibilities:
● Interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written/verbal instructions to layout, fit, and assemble components accurately.
● Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and Flux core on mild steel, structural steel, and other metals/alloys.
● Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, automated band saws, press brake machines, sheet metal equipment, grinders, and gas torches to cut, shape, bend, cope, and fabricate materials to specifications.
● Ensure finished work meets quality and tolerance standards by inspecting for defects and measuring dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
● Fabricate structural steel and other metal assemblies for manufacturing projects.
● Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead/jib cranes, and follow rigging procedures to safely move heavy materials.
● Clean and prepare surfaces for welding; perform welding in multiple positions.
● Maintain a clean, organized workspace and housekeeping practices while adhering to safety regulations, PPE usage (including steel-toed boots, gloves, face shields, welding helmets), and OSHA guidelines.
● Support production workflow, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and perform minor equipment maintenance.
● Accurately document work processes and collaborate with team members on timelines, troubleshooting, and quality control.
● Assist with basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, or specifications.
● Maintain a positive attitude and cohesive team-oriented environment.
Requirements
● High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of related welding/fabrication experience (required); 5+ years preferred.
● Technical or vocational training in welding or fabrication preferred.
● Prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment, including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and Flux core welding; familiarity with fixture and production line techniques.
● Experience operating forklifts, overhead/jib cranes, and other material handling equipment preferred; welding certifications (e.g. CW AWS, ASME, CWI) required.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, perform physical tasks like standing, bending, and moving for extended periods, and work in various positions/environments.
● Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and follow detailed instructions with precision.
● Understanding of workplace safety practices and commitment to PPE requirements.
● Reliable transportation and ability to reliably commute or relocate to Warren, OH 44483.
● Must pass a background check, drug screening, and fitting test.
