Full Job Description

Robertson Cabinets is a commercial casework shop in West Milton, Ohio, building cabinets and millwork for schools, banks, vet clinics, rec centers, and similar projects across the region. We're looking for a detailer/drafter to join our office and grow with us.

Why this role is different

We cut almost everything on our CNC, which means the person drawing the casework isn't just producing paperwork — you're engineering the final product. What you draw is what gets built. If you take pride in precise, buildable drawings and want to actually see your work come off the machine and go up on a jobsite, this is that seat.

This is also a grow-into-more role. You'd start by learning under our lead detailer, drawing cabinets, submitting shop drawings to architects, and revising them based on feedback. Over time — as you're ready — the path opens into bidding and project management. We're hiring for trajectory, not just to fill a drafting chair.

What you'd be doing

Drawing commercial casework and custom millwork in CAD (we use AutoCAD-style tools and Mozaik)
Producing shop drawing submittals and sending them to architects for approval
Revising drawings based on architect, GC, and field feedback
Preparing drawings for CNC production — your details drive the cut
Working directly with our shop team on highly custom pieces, problem-solving how something actually gets built
Coordinating with GCs and our internal team to keep projects moving
Growing into bidding and project management as your experience builds

What we're looking for

You understand how CAD-based design tools work and are comfortable in them (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, SolidWorks, Mozaik, or similar). You do not need to already know Mozaik — we'll teach it.
Eager to learn the trade and grow into bigger responsibilities
Detail-oriented and precise — small errors become wrong parts on a CNC
Collaborative: comfortable working with architects, GCs, and our shop guys
Able to read architectural plans and elevations, or genuinely eager to learn
A background in cabinetry, millwork, casework, woodworking, or architectural drafting is a strong plus

Nice to have (not required)

Associate degree or certificate in drafting, CAD, or architecture
Experience with cabinet/millwork-specific CAD-CAM (Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum)
Familiarity with CNC-based production

Ability to read finish schedules and construction documents

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
