Full Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and motivated Chef de Cuisine to join our vibrant food truck team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of a specific kitchen section—such as the grill, fryer, or prep—ensuring food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, compact environment that requires efficiency, creativity, and a strong sense of teamwork.
You will report directly to the Executive Chef, ensuring alignment with the overall culinary vision and standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and plate dishes in line with the food truck’s menu and quality expectations.
Manage a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, fryer, prep) with full accountability.
Ensure your station is clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Participate in daily prep, setup, restocking, and end-of-day breakdown/cleanup.
Communicate clearly and efficiently with fellow team members during busy service times.
Suggest ideas for menu innovation, flavor enhancements, and efficient prep workflows.
Train and guide junior kitchen staff or assistants as needed.
Maintain proper portion control to reduce food waste and ensure consistency.
Adapt quickly to on-the-fly changes and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
Additional duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or experienced line cook in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Culinary training or strong hands-on kitchen experience.
Solid knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently in confined spaces and under pressure.
Strong team player with excellent time management and communication skills.
Passion for street food, creativity, and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Valid driver’s license (required for assisting with food truck operations and mobility).
Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.

Preferred:

Previous experience in food trucks, pop-ups, or fast-casual kitchens.
Valid food handler’s certification.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
