Location: Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Water, Licensing Program
Job Type: Temporary / Part-Time
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour W2
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Contract: Temporary Staffing Support under State of Delaware Contract #GSS25112-TEMP_EMPL

Job Description

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Water, Licensing Program, is seeking a part-time Office Associate to provide administrative and office support during an operational transition.

The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with the public while handling routine administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Answer telephone calls and respond to public inquiries professionally.
Electronically file, scan, organize, and process documents.
Accept and process online applications.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and email.
Assist with public meetings and related administrative activities.
Provide support with exam proctoring.
Perform general clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Maintain accurate records and ensure documents are processed on time.

Schedule Options

Option 1: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM

32.5 hours/week
Includes a daily 1-hour unpaid lunch

Option 2: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

35 hours/week
Includes a daily 1-hour unpaid lunch

Qualifications

Previous office, administrative, clerical, or customer service experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable answering phones and assisting the public.
Basic computer skills, including email, electronic filing, scanning, and document processing.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple administrative tasks.
Professional and reliable work ethic.
