POSITION OVERVIEW

Rideau Vineyard is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Tasting Room Host to serve as the first point of contact for our guests and embody the spirit of the Rideau experience. As the first person visitors meet, you set the tone for their entire visit—offering a warm welcome, answering questions, and creating an atmosphere that reflects our commitment to hospitality and excellence.

This is a Sunday-focused role with the opportunity to pick up serving shifts. It’s ideal for someone with hospitality experience who genuinely loves meeting people, enjoys keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes, and wants to be part of a team that cares about what it does. The ideal candidate is cheerful, organized, and takes pride in making every guest feel genuinely welcomed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and set the tone for an excellent tasting experience
Manage check-ins using our reservation system, confirming details such as names, membership status, and special notes
Prepare the tasting room each morning by placing reserved signs and assisting with setup
Familiarize yourself with the day’s reservations in advance to offer a personalized welcome
Communicate clearly with the tasting room team to ensure a smooth seating and service flow
Step in to serve tastings when we need the extra hands—pouring, guiding guests through the lineup, and processing sales
Assist with other tasks as needed to support the tasting room, such as restocking, bussing, or assisting with events

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must be 21 years of age or older
Previous hosting experience strongly recommended
Cheerful, outgoing personality and a natural sense of hospitality
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Comfort with technology and using a reservation/check-in system
Able to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working outdoors, including in warm weather
Some wine knowledge is a plus, with a willingness to learn more
Sunday availability is required

PAY & PERKS

Starting at $20/hr
Pooled tip/commission payout per shift that typically adds a few dollars per hour on top

SCHEDULE

Part-time: 6–8 hours per week, Sundays. Additional serving or hosting shifts may be available on other days based on need and availability.
