Full Job Description

Crisdel Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to support our project management and accounting teams at our state-of-the-art facility in South Plainfield, NJ. You will play a key role in keeping our heavy civil and site work projects running smoothly by managing project billings, cost reporting, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to, the following:

Prepare draft schedule of values for prime contract billings.
Track quantities for job costing and billing purposes.
Assist with tracking change orders and extra work, ensuring billings and job cost reflect approved changes.
Review and process draft prime contract billings, ensuring compliance with contract terms and supporting documentation.
Compile and submit monthly reporting required for prime contract billings in coordination with the billing manager and project teams.
Route and track commitments such as purchase orders, subcontracts, and commitment change orders ensuring proper approvals and coding prior to execution.
Review and process subcontractor payment applications.
Monitor and report payments made to subcontractor and/or suppliers on a monthly basis to owners or prime contractors utilizing clients’ forms and/or software portals.
Prepare production analysis reports for various projects by comparing data from direct cost detail reports from the original bid estimate to the actual direct costs derived from the job cost reports.
Assist project management and accounting teams with monthly cost reporting and work-in-process schedules.

Qualifications

BS in Accounting, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
1-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with a civil, heavy/highway, or site work construction company.
Familiarity with job costing, pay applications, and construction contracts is strongly preferred.

Proficiencies

Business productivity software such as Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams)
Construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE (or similar).
Construction project management software such as Procore (or similar).
Construction estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid (or similar).
Construction field-management software such as HCSS Heavy Job (or similar).
Client-based compliance software and reporting portals.
