Full Job Description

Title: Brake Press Operator - Swing Shift

Job Summary: Join a small team with a manufacturing company that collaborates to continually improve to be world class! In this role you will assist in the forming and fabrication of sheet metal parts, per customer specifications.

This position is for Swing Shift. Successful applicants must be able to work this shift.

All entry-level production workers will start at a rate of $18.00/hour, with higher hourly rates for experienced operators. Swing Shift positions receive an additional $2.00/hour shift differential.

Full benefit package including medical, dental and life insurance, paid vacation hours, paid sick/personal leave, holiday pay, and a 401K plan. Our 140,000 square foot shop floor is clean, organized and climate-controlled year-round.

Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude of machinery, specifically the brake press machine
Basic math skills and knowledge of blueprints
Able to understand basic use of calipers, etc.
Comfortable with verbal instruction
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the brake department preferred
Ability to carry out work with little supervision

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensure formed parts meet customer specifications
Performs a wide variety of press brake operations, including setups, using light to medium gauge sheet metal, aluminum or stainless steel
Set dies and stops as directed and adjust ram, backstops and other factors as required to produce bends that conform in all aspects to drawing specifications.
Uses a variety of measuring instruments to periodically check and conform that dimensions and tolerances are met.
Able to understand engineered prints and work with them

Follow established best practices and suggest improvements to processes & procedures.
Ensure compliance with and follow documented Quality ISO/AS9100 requirements.

Encourage continuous rapid improvement throughout the organization.
Responsible for working safely and supporting a safe work environment.
