LZT is looking for an experienced Lunar Gateway Embedded Software Engineer to provide NASA Johnson Space Center with embedded software skills in the development of the Gateway Flight Software Verification Laboratory (GSVL). This engineering position includes developing early prototypes for embedded software for flight hardware targets, as well as integration and testing of delivered embedded flight software. Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of prototyped development flight software into development flight processors for early integration.
Work with NASA partners to integrate flight software deliveries into the verification facility.
Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across multiple NASA programs and projects.
Ensure adherence to JSC standard software process practices.
Provide troubleshooting and fault resolution of the verification & validation facility to minimize rig down time.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities.
B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
3+ years of experience minimum developing embedded firmware. Greater experience is highly valued.
3+ years if experience minimum developing with C programming language. Greater experience is highly valued.
3+ years of experience minimum troubleshooting hardware and software. Greater experience is highly valued.
Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
Experience with spacecraft or aircraft flight software verification and certification.
Experience developing and integrating closed loop real-time spacecraft or aircraft simulators.
Experience integrating hardware and software using some of the more prominent hardware standards and protocols used in space transportation avionics
Experience with RESTful API.
Experience with Python.
Experience using VHDL and programming FPGAs.
Experience with Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE).
Experience with test facilities supporting human-rated flight systems a plus.
Experience in human-rated safety critical flight software in aerospace or other industries.
Experience with embedded firmware using VxWorks.
Experience programming NASA Core Flight Software (cFS).
Vehicle-wide knowledge of space vehicle systems.
