Full Job Description

Profit Improvement- Clear understanding of the profit and revenue drivers of the business. Sales channels, product/service mix and costs are defined and monitored consistently. A well-defined profit goal exists for regular intervals (monthly, quarterly) and is monitored systematically. Regular recommendations are made as to how profit goals can be met or improved. Fixed and variable costs are consistently reviewed and/or negotiated to maximize cost savings for the organization.
Strategic Planning- Playing a key role in developing organization's strategic plan. Strategy is clearly translated to mid-term (3-years) and short-term (Annual, Quarterly) goals and milestones. Structured monitoring of execution against objectives. Progress (or lack of) is clear and tracked at regular intervals (monthly, quarterly) and issues preventing execution are raised and resolved quickly.
Cash Flow- Organization's cash position and cash needs are clear and managed well. CEO has direct line of sight to cash needs in the next 90 days (minimum). Cash goals are defined (Days/Weeks of Cash) and preserved. All revenue, expense, receivables and payable projections are tracked at regular intervals (weekly, monthly). Shortfalls or challenges are identified in advance.
Risk Management- Clear understanding of the risks associated to the business. Regular monitoring of inputs associated with product/service (labor, supply, logistics, quality). Oversight for IT, data and cybersecurity of company's digital assets. Well-defined plan for proper insurance and risk mitigation practices.
Internal Systems & Controls- Organized, reliable and efficient means of collecting, ordering and analyzing the company's data.
Reporting- Reporting systems, methods, templates and delivery dates are clear and documented. Key reports are regularly reviewed prior to delivery and a regular cadence of review is established with key leaders/board members/stakeholders.
Compliance- The organization's leaders are clear and in compliance with contractual agreements. Banking covenants, strategic partnerships and customer requirements are all in compliance and in good standing.
Banking Relationships- Strong relationship exists with key contacts within bank(s) to ensure maximum access to resources and minimum service costs.
Funding- Key relationships to external resources (banks, investors, factoring) to assist in additional working capital, capital to expand or funding new ventures. Relationships should match the core values of the organization and serve as a catalyst, not roadblock, for the organization to achieve its objectives.
Outsourcing- Organized evaluation of most cost-efficient and cost-effective outsourced expertise options. Provide accountability for service providers to execute according to agreements.
Tax & Legal- Close linkage to tax and legal professionals to ensure the business is tax efficient and protected.
Implementation- Regular review and assessment of the above subjects with clear improvement and implementation plan as needed.
