Full Job Description

Position Summary

Chandler Capital Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to support our manufacturing and operational teams. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services necessary to maintain efficient production operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, experience working with vendors and suppliers, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase raw materials, fabricated components, tools, supplies, and services required for production and operations
Maintain inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess inventory
Source and evaluate vendors based on pricing, quality, lead time, and reliability
Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage supplier relationships
Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner
Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries
Coordinate with production, warehouse, accounting, and operations teams regarding material needs and scheduling
Resolve purchasing, shipping, receiving, or invoice discrepancies
Track material costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation
Assist with forecasting and planning based on production demands
Ensure purchased materials meet company quality standards and specifications
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain and purchasing processes

Qualifications

Previous purchasing, procurement, buyer, or supply chain experience preferred
Manufacturing or industrial purchasing experience strongly preferred
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations
Experience working in fast-paced production environments
