Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Business Analyst to lead strategic business analysis initiatives that drive technology transformation, service delivery optimization, and operational excellence. This role will play a pivotal part in the assessment, documentation, and communication of business needs to ensure alignment with IT strategy and organizational goals.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business discovery, systems analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and Agile frameworks. You will serve as a critical liaison between business units and technology teams to ensure current and future state processes and systems are well understood, documented, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Analysis & Discovery Lead the end-to-end analysis of current state systems, business processes, and organizational structures. Conduct in-depth interviews and discovery sessions with stakeholders, SMEs, and end users to gather, analyze, and validate business requirements. Translate high-level business needs into detailed documentation such as business process maps, functional specifications, user stories, and use cases.
Future State Planning & Documentation Define and document future-state operating models, system capabilities, and service delivery mechanisms aligned with strategic business goals. Support the formulation of IT strategic plans and roadmaps by translating complex business priorities into actionable technical and process recommendations. Assist in developing strategic documentation such as business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and implementation plans.
Gap & Impact Analysis Identify and analyze gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies in existing systems, technologies, and processes. Recommend improvements to business processes, technology infrastructure, and service workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and user satisfaction.
Agile Project Participation Actively participate in Agile or iterative project planning and execution including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Work collaboratively with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to refine and prioritize user stories and epics. Ensure that business needs are accurately reflected in Agile artifacts and that stakeholder feedback is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
Tool Utilization & Communication Use tools like
Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) or
JIRA to track analysis work, capture requirements, and manage documentation. Develop and present clear, concise reports, presentations, and insights to business and technical leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in leading business analysis activities for complex enterprise environments. Proven success in performing current-state assessments and developing future-state systems and process models. Demonstrated expertise in requirement elicitation methods, including interviews, workshops, document reviews, and workflow analysis. Strong understanding of IT strategic planning and its alignment with business operations and goals. Experience in conducting impact assessments, gap analyses, and identifying opportunities for process or technology improvements. At least 3 years of hands-on experience working in Agile or iterative project environments, contributing to structured collaboration and delivery. Proficiency in business analysis and project tracking tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), JIRA, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to convey technical and non-technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to synthesize complex data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights in a concise, actionable format.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or CSPO. Familiarity with frameworks like BABOK, SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma. Experience working on government, healthcare, or large-scale public sector IT initiatives. Exposure to enterprise architecture tools or modeling software such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Balsamiq.
