Full Job Description

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited about building their career in Human Resources. The ideal candidate enjoys learning, takes initiative, and is comfortable working with technology and new systems.

This position offers the unique opportunity to be involved in the implementation and ongoing support of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), UKG-one of the industry's leading HR platforms. You'll gain valuable, hands-on experience helping develop HR processes, supporting system implementation, and learning how technology can improve the employee experience and organizational efficiency.

Initially, this position will take primary responsibility for three key areas: talent acquisition, new hire onboarding/orientation and employee benefits administration. You’ll help manage the recruiting process, create a positive and organized onboarding experience for new employees, and support employees with their benefits throughout the employment lifecycle.

The role is intentionally designed to grow and will evolve into greater responsibilities across Human Resources. This may include employee relations, performance management, compliance, policy and procedure development, training, HR systems, employee communications, and other HR initiative

Primary Responsibilities:

The HR Specialist will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day administration of talent acquisition and recruiting, employee benefits, and new hire onboarding and orientation. The position will also provide support across the broader Human Resources function, with responsibilities expanding as the employee develops experience and the HR department continues to grow.

New Hire Onboarding & Orientation: Coordinate the new hire process from accepted offer through the employee's first day; collect and verify required employment documentation; coordinate completion of Form I-9, tax forms, policies, acknowledgments, and other onboarding documents; conduct or coordinate new hire orientation; ensure new employees receive information regarding benefits, policies, systems, and organizational expectations; coordinate with managers and other departments to ensure employees are prepared for their first day; and track completion of required onboarding activities

Benefits Administration: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions; assist employees with benefit enrollment and eligibility; process new enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefit changes; coordinate with benefit carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators; maintain accurate benefit information within the HRIS; assist with annual open enrollment; reconcile benefit enrollment information and identify discrepancies; communicate benefit programs to employees; and assist with 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other employee benefit programs as assigned.

HRIS & Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS; process new hires and employee changes; maintain personnel and benefit records; audit HR information for accuracy; assist with HRIS implementation, configuration, testing, and process development; generate reports; and identify opportunities to use technology to streamline HR processes.

General HR Support & Compliance: Maintain confidential employee information; prepare HR correspondence and documentation; respond to routine employee questions; assist with policies and procedures; maintain required records; support compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies; assist with HR projects; and provide administrative support for other HR functions asneeded.
