Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable accounting assistant with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting accounting operations through journal entries, data entry, general ledger posting, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, and tracking financial documentation.

They should be able to accurately review transactions for compliance with established policies, regulations, and accounting standards while maintaining a high level of accuracy in calculations and recordkeeping. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, along with strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, is essential. The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to prioritize multiple responsibilities, and committed to supporting the accounting team with professionalism and integrity.

What You’ll Do
Prepare and process journal entries while maintaining accurate financial records.
Perform high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Track and monitor the timely submission of vouchers and supporting documentation.
Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure proper account coding.
Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Review financial transactions for accuracy, legitimacy, and compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Perform arithmetic calculations accurately using accounting software and standard office equipment.
Maintain organized financial records and support month-end and year-end accounting activities.
Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and email applications to manage financial data and communicate effectively.
Collaborate with accounting staff to support daily financial operations and special projects.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar financial support role preferred.
Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and basic accounting practices.
Experience preparing journal entries, posting to the general ledger, and reconciling bank statements.
Strong data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
Familiarity with financial recordkeeping and maintaining confidential information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with established policies and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Dependable, professional, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities, and perform additional duties as assigned.

What We Offer

Pay range: $15.00-16.00per hour. (Varies based on experience)
