Leasing Agent
Simsbury, CT
Pay: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Openings: 2
Schedule: 40-hour work week, with some weekends required
Work Location: In person

Garden Communities is seeking professional, friendly, and customer-focused Leasing Agents for our apartment community in Simsbury, CT.

The ideal candidates will have strong customer service, sales, hospitality, administrative, leasing, or property management experience, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding service to both prospective and current residents.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organized, and is interested in growing within residential property management. Prior leasing experience is helpful, but we are also open to candidates with strong transferable skills who are eager to learn.

We are looking for candidates who can confidently communicate with prospective residents, conduct apartment tours, follow up on leads, assist with applications, and help create a positive experience from the first point of contact through move-in.

Responsibilities

Greet prospective residents and provide information about available apartments
Conduct apartment tours and present the property in a professional and welcoming manner
Follow up with prospective residents regarding availability, applications, and next steps
Assist with lease applications, application verification, renewals, and move-in paperwork
Respond to phone calls, emails, and resident inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Assist current residents with questions, concerns, and service requests
Maintain accurate guest cards, leasing records, reports, leases, and resident files
Support the Property Manager with daily administrative and leasing responsibilities
Handle resident concerns in a professional, fair, and consistent manner
Maintain office organization and assist with office and maintenance supply inventory
Assist with resident communication and special resident events as needed
Conduct all business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable laws
Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager

Qualifications

Prior leasing, property management, sales, hospitality, administrative, or customer service experience preferred
Yardi or property management software experience is a plus, but not required
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, positive, and dependable attitude
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment
Strong follow-up and organizational skills
Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and learning new software systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be a team player and work well with owners, managers, colleagues, residents, and vendors
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, including some weekends as needed
