Position Purpose
Performs assigned duties with the intent of furthering the interests of the members and TelComm Credit Union. Primary responsibilities include supporting the residential mortgage loan process from application through closing by ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and timely progression of mortgage files. This position works closely with members, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, appraisers, and third-party vendors to deliver an efficient and professional mortgage experience while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational quality standards.
Job Responsibilities

Maintain strong member relationships through exceptional service and communication throughout the mortgage process.

Review mortgage loan applications and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Collect, organize, and verify required documentation including income, assets, credit, employment, insurance, title, and appraisal information.

Communicate with members, loan officers, real estate agents, title companies, and vendors regarding outstanding conditions and loan status updates.

Prepare and submit mortgage loan files for underwriting review in a timely and accurate manner.

Review underwriting conditions and coordinate the collection of required documentation to satisfy approval conditions.

Ensure loan files meet applicable investor, secondary market, and regulatory guidelines.

Coordinate appraisals, flood determinations, title work, verifications, and other third-party services as needed.

Monitor pipeline deadlines to ensure timely closings and compliance with disclosure requirements.

Prepare and review closing packages for accuracy prior to funding.

Maintain accurate records within the loan origination system and electronic imaging systems.

Assist with post-closing follow-up and trailing documentation when needed.

Respond to member inquiries regarding mortgage loan status, documentation, and process expectations.

Cross-sell mortgage-related and other credit union products and services when appropriate.

Maintain confidentiality of member financial information at all times.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Previous mortgage processing, lending, banking, or financial services experience preferred.

Working knowledge of residential mortgage documentation, compliance requirements, and lending terminology preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products and mortgage loan origination systems.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day).
