Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on weekends. This vital role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse population, including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. As a Weekend CNA, you will play a key part in ensuring our residents and patients receive respectful, attentive support in a safe and nurturing environment. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will help foster a positive experience for everyone under your care.

Duties

Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Monitor vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health needs to promote comfort and well-being.
Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient transfers using safe transfer methods and assist with medical documentation as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all patient interactions.
Assist in specialized care areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, or long-term care facilities when required.

Requirements

Valid CNA certification with current state licensure.
Experience working with geriatric patients, including memory care or dementia care settings.
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
Prior experience in hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities or sub-acute care environments is highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices.
Strong communication skills for caregiving interactions and team collaboration.
Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
