Bilingual Medical Interpreter (Spanish/English) – Part-Time

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
We are seeking a Bilingual Medical Interpreter (Spanish/English) to support a fast-paced medical practice. This role involves assisting with Spanish-English communication during patient encounters, real-time clinical documentation, and supporting the provider with day-to-day clinical workflow.
This position is ideal for someone who is bilingual, detail-oriented, fast at typing, reliable, organized, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in a medical setting.
Schedule
This is a part-time position.
The schedule will consist of assigned clinic days during the week and may vary depending on clinic location and practice needs.
Applicants should have good weekday availability and be comfortable traveling to different clinic locations depending on the assigned schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Spanish-English interpretation during patient encounters
- Assist the provider in communicating with Spanish-speaking patients
- Document patient visits in real time during provider encounters
- Accurately capture patient history, examination findings, assessments, treatment plans, and procedures
- Support provider workflow to improve efficiency during patient visits
- Assist with preparation of referrals, orders, forms, and other clinical documentation as needed
- Provide light clinical or administrative assistance when necessary
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation in the EMR
Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish and English, required
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute, required
- Strong typing skills with the ability to document quickly and accurately
- Comfortable communicating with Spanish-speaking patients and interpreting between Spanish and English
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Reliable, professional, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable performing both interpretation and documentation duties
- Able to travel reliably between assigned clinic locations
- Available for a part-time weekday schedule
Travel Requirement
This role requires travel between multiple clinic locations.
Current locations are primarily in Queens and the Bronx, with the possibility of working at a Mineola/Long Island location.
Candidates must be comfortable commuting to different assigned locations depending on the day.
Reliable transportation is required, whether by car, public transportation, or another dependable method.
Ability to drive is preferred but not required.

- Prior medical interpreter, medical scribe, or healthcare experience
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Experience with medical terminology
- Experience communicating with patients in a healthcare setting
- Interest in healthcare, such as pre-med, pre-PA, nursing, or related fields
- Ability to drive between locations
