Experienced Optician – Patient-Focused, Team-Oriented

Are you an experienced optician with a great personality, strong customer-service skills, and a team-first attitude?

We are looking for an experienced Optician to join our growing practice. We are seeking someone with approximately 3 years of optical experience who is confident working with patients, enjoys building relationships, and is willing to be cross-trained in multiple areas of the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be more than just an optician—we are looking for a dependable, personable team member who wants to contribute to the overall success of the practice.

What We’re Looking For

Approximately 3 years of optician/optical experience
Excellent personality and a warm, positive, approachable demeanor
Strong communication and customer-service skills
Comfortable interacting with patients of all ages
Ability to confidently recommend and educate patients about frames, lenses, lens options, and optical products
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable, punctual, organized, and dependable
Professional appearance and attitude
Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical optometry environment
Willingness to learn new skills and take on responsibilities outside of traditional optical duties
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from our office. Reliable and consistent attendance is extremely important to our practice.

Cross-Training Is an Important Part of This Position

We are a small, close-knit practice, so everyone contributes to the overall patient experience.

The ideal candidate will be willing to learn and assist with areas such as:

Optical dispensing and frame selection
Measuring and taking accurate optical measurements
Lens and frame recommendations
Contact lens-related patient support
Scheduling and appointment coordination
Patient check-in/check-out
Insurance verification and benefit discussions
Pre-testing and other clinical support as appropriate
Phone calls and patient communication
Inventory and optical organization
Assisting other team members when needed

Qualifications

Required:

Approximately 3 years of optical/optician experience

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
Willingness to cross-train and assist throughout the practice

Preferred:

Experience in a medical optometry or private-practice setting
Familiarity with vision insurance and optical benefits
Experience with frame and lens selection
Experience with contact lenses
ABO certification is a plus, but not required
