Job Description
This position is responsible for the maintenance, operation and development of all aspects and systems of the Company’s Plasma Cold Hearth Melting Furnace. The associate prepares the furnace and its components, troubleshoots furnace systems, operates the furnace during melting and maintains the furnace in good working order.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares the furnace and it components (torches, gas systems, hearths, withdrawal systems and etc.) for melting. This includes the cleaning of the furnace and systems between melting campaigns.
Prepares the raw materials for introduction into the furnace, load furnace feeding systems prior to and during the melting process.
Operate and control the melting process in accordance with established procedures
Troubleshoot and Perform necessary repairs to the furnace and the various operating systems that are a part of the furnace process
Maintain the necessary records and data/charts as required
Maintain the general cleanliness of the furnace and systems in accordance with Company requirements
Work with management as part of the furnace operations team
Education & Experience
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of manufacturing experience
Must be able to read and follow operation and production instructions
Safe and proficient shop floor practices
Team player
Individual must have good basic communication (reading, writing and verbal) skills so as to take and offer direction with coworkers and management.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
