Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the daily HR operations of a fast-paced agricultural and food manufacturing facility. This position serves as a primary resource for employees and supervisors regarding payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, recruiting, onboarding, and company policies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruiting and Onboarding

Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
Support on-site recruiting events.
Conduct new hire orientations and ensure completion of all onboarding requirements.
Prepare and audit onboarding documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Partner with department managers to support staffing needs and workforce planning.

Benefits Administration

Conduct benefits enrollment meetings for new hires during orientation.
Respond to employee benefit questions and assist with enrollment changes.
Work with insurance carriers, brokers, and employees to resolve benefit-related issues.
Assist with annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.

Leave Administration

Manage and track employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, personal leaves, and other protected leaves.
Coordinate leave paperwork and communicate with employees regarding eligibility, documentation requirements, and return-to-work procedures.
Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
Monitor leave balances and communicate updates to management as needed.

Payroll and Timekeeping

Review employee time records for accuracy and completeness.
Process and submit payroll information, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and employee status updates.
Audit attendance and timekeeping records and work with supervisors to correct discrepancies.
Assist employees with payroll-related questions and issues.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and wage and hour laws.

HR Administration and Compliance

Maintain confidential employee, payroll, medical, benefits, and personnel files.
Ensure HR records are accurate, complete, and properly retained.
Ensure required labor law postings and notices are maintained and up to date.
Respond to requests for information from employees, managers, and external agencies as appropriate.
Assist with HR reporting, audits, and special projects.
Protect the confidentiality and security of employee information.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of administrative experience.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

Associate’s in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Experience in agriculture, food manufacturing, or a production environment.
Experience with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
Ability to move throughout the facility as needed to support employees and operations.
Bilingual in Spanish, Arabic, or Frech Creole.

Hours for the role will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
