Full Job Description

Position: Financial Specialist 2, Stennis Space Center, MS

Opportunity: Leading Small Business Professional Services Firm is seeking qualified individual for – Financial Specialist 2

Duties:

The Financial Specialist 2 will work with a team to provide business office services to a federal shared services data center facility.

1. Support the government’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution processes including budget formulation, preparing and utilizing historical cost data, calculating rates and supporting data calls.

2. Prepare and maintain periodic financial status reports and utilization/billing reports ensuring accuracy.

3. Input, monitor and record financial data. Provide supporting details and documentation for facility usage.

4. Prepare financial analysis, reports, documentation, trending, forecasting and modeling to provide information for decision making.

5. Validate, reconcile and process contract invoices to ensure accurate payment.

6. Analyze and coordinate information for purchase requisitions to fund government contracts.

7. Initiate financial reviews, analyze requests for funding and report financial data for projects.

8. Prepare responses and provide supporting documentation in support of audits.

9. Compile annual financial data to support economic impact reporting.

10. Utilize various government financial management and related systems.

11. Participate in meetings and prepare presentations.

12. Perform related business services duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum High School Diploma. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus.

2. Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in financial management, budgeting, accounting, or related business fields.

3. Experience using systems that support financial management services.

4. Intermediate level of Microsoft Office skills and highly proficient in using Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, creating tables and graphs and other advanced features. Ability to quickly learn new software applications.

5. Experience working in a government environment is a plus.

6. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to apply concepts, processes, and practices.

8. Satisfactory results of background screening.
