What to Expect

Tesla has an opportunity for a IT Manufacturing Support Technician at its Lathrop CA location. If you are a technical expert in various areas, thrive under pressure, enjoy solving problems, love working your way through chaos, and get bored with mundane IT tasks, then this role is for you. The IT Manufacturing Support Technician is a unique role on the front lines of Tesla manufacturing. We solve problems every day and interact with different technologies to support Tesla’s mission to build a world of amazing abundance. You will provide critical IT Support for both production lines, warehousing and logistics areas, ensuring minimal downtime to the entire facility. You will have a hands-on role that involves working with a ride range of technologies, from manufacturing endpoints to label printers, and automation tools while directly contributing to Teslas mission of building a world of amazing abundance.

What You'll Do

Primary responsibility is to keep manufacturing lines running
Install, support, upgrade, replace, and remediate all IT hardware along manufacturing lines and warehouse operations
Quickly respond to requests and incidents from our customers
Troubleshoot Hardware, Operating System and software issues using Winfinder, Lnxfinder, Ansible
Troubleshoot Network issues from the client up to the switch and IDF using Thingfinder
Interface with the various manufacturing groups to understand issues
Interpret how to solve long term needs within the framework of IT MFG standards
Provide IT support for Logistics and warehousing operations which includes Label printers, scanners and other products
Help maintain accurate inventory of IT assets
Help interpret short term and long term solutions within IT MFG standards

What You'll Bring

Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a desktop support or system admin role
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on Windows machines
Experience troubleshooting printings, barcode scanners, digital signage
Experience troubleshooting basic client-side network (DHCP, DNS, Static IP) problems
Must have good communication skills
Must be available for swing shift, weekends, and on-call support
Linux support experience a plus
Network hardware support experience a plus
Dev/Ops experience a plus

Expected Compensation

$23.04 - $52.92/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
