A BIT ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Lindsey Hadley, owner and director of Joy of Dance.
I joined the JoD family in 2005 and became the owner in 2011. Since then, I’ve been passionate about creating a studio environment where dancers, families, and staff feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and inspired.
Joy of Dance has grown into a community that truly feels like a second home for many of our dancers and families, and we care deeply about creating a positive experience for every person who walks through our doors.
As our studio continues to grow, I’m looking for a strong operational leader who can help guide our team, support our families, and help move the business forward alongside me.

We’re looking for a strong operational leader who can help oversee the day-to-day functions of the studio while serving as a trusted leadership presence for our staff, dancers, and families.
This role requires independent thinking, strong communication skills, leadership ability, emotional maturity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for people.
This is not a “yes person” role.

The Studio Operations Director should feel confident making thoughtful day-to-day decisions independently while also knowing when collaboration or escalation is needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Studio Operations Director plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the studio, leading administrative staff, managing communications, overseeing enrollment, organizing events and performances, contributing to marketing efforts, and ensuring the facility operates at a high standard.
This person is the primary operational leadership presence at the studio during many day-to-day operations and collaborates closely with the Director and Executive Assistant to create an exceptional experience for everyone at Joy of Dance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAdministrative & Office Management
- Manage studio inbox and phone calls with professionalism, warmth, and urgency
- Maintain and improve internal systems and processes using Asana and other software platforms
- Coordinate seasonal calendars, studio logistics, and event planning
- Collaborate with the Executive Assistant to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Complete and supervise payroll processing
- Oversee tuition management and support families through billing concerns professionally and compassionately
- Run weekly admin meetings and help facilitate team communication
Staff Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as a leadership presence and go-to person for staff questions and support
- Schedule and conduct reviews for front desk staff
- Onboard and train new office staff and dance instructors
- Support hiring and staff development alongside the Director
- Coach team members with kindness, clarity, and accountability
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and help others grow into leadership
- Help maintain a positive, solution-oriented, and growth-focused team culture
Enrollment & Client Experience
- Oversee trial student follow-up and enrollment systems
- Ensure families receive exceptional customer service and communication
- Troubleshoot and improve automations and workflows
- Identify gaps in the customer experience and proactively improve systems
Marketing & Communications
- Collaborate on marketing strategies and studio promotions
- Help guide communication strategy and client messaging
- Ensure prospective families receive timely and professional communication
- Assist with retention and internal marketing efforts
Events & Performances
- Lead coordination of performances and studio events
- Manage event logistics, scheduling, communications, and vendor coordination
- Oversee event-related operational details including programs, merchandise, music, performance websites, etc.
Building Maintenance & Studio Presentation
- Coordinate cleaning, repairs, and facility upkeep
- Ensure the studio environment remains clean, welcoming, safe, and professional
- Support seasonal decorating and studio presentation
- Help oversee studio technology and operational systems
Inventory
- Monitor inventory levels for studio supplies
- Ensure timely restocking and organization

COMPENSATION & GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
This position offers a salary range of approximately $45,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience, leadership ability, operational skillset, and overall fit for the role.
We are open to shaping this position around the strengths and experience level of the right candidate.
Candidates closer to the $45K-$54K range may:
- Have strong people skills and leadership potential, but less direct management experience
- Be newer to operations leadership or team management
- Require more training and mentorship in systems, delegation, and studio operations
- Excel in customer experience and organization, but still be developing higher-level leadership confidence
- Be transitioning from administrative, retail, hospitality, education, or customer service roles into a larger leadership position
Candidates closer to the $55K–$65K range may:
- Have prior leadership or operations management experience
- Be highly confident delegating, coaching, and managing teams
- Have experience building systems and improving operational workflows
- Be comfortable independently managing day-to-day business operations
- Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and leadership maturity
- Have experience handling scheduling, staff accountability, customer issues, and event logistics at a high level
- Require minimal oversight after onboarding and training

General working hours are primarily Monday–Friday daytime hours with flexibility in start/end times. Some evenings and weekends throughout the season are required, as well as Saturday on-call days every 3 weeks (this includes answering new inquiries and filling in on Saturdays if someone calls out and we can’t find a sub). Work-from-home flexibility will also be available depending on responsibilities and studio needs.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
