Education

Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing (LPN), EMT or Paramedic program

Experience / Qualifications

Current licensure / Certification in the state of Florida
BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
PALS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
Previous hospital experience preferred

Position Summary

The ER Tech has a responsibility to acts as adjunct to registered nursing and support staff in providing clinical care as approved by their licensure.
Provide support to peers, patients, and their families.
All aspects of the ER Tech's performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.
The ER Tech identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to the appropriate person in charge.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis.
- Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
- TB/PPD Surveillance Program
- Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
