Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounting Clerk and become a vital contributor to our financial operations! This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in accounting processes, ensure accuracy in financial data, and support the overall health of our organization’s financial systems. You will be instrumental in maintaining precise records, performing detailed reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions that keep our operations running smoothly. Duties

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data
Prepare journal entries and support general ledger accounting activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring correct tax calculations and deductions
Reconcile accounts through double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation procedures
Assist with month-end closing activities, including ledger reviews and financial statement preparation
Support internal controls related to SOX compliance and governmental accounting standards
Collaborate with teams on budgeting, credit analysis, and financial concept interpretation to enhance financial decision-making

Skills

Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis
Experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable
Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is preferred
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks efficiently
Strong math skills combined with analytical thinking for account analysis and budget support
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure compliance with internal controls
