Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and hardworking Laborers to join our Directional Drilling Crew. This role involves assisting drill operators, locators, and other crew members in daily HDD operations. Laborers play a critical role in job site preparation, material handling, and site cleanup, ensuring smooth and safe drilling operations.
Travel may be required based on project locations. Candidates should be prepared for both local and out-of-town work as needed.
No previous drilling experience? No problem! We are willing to train individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist Drill Operators and Locators in setting up and breaking down the job site.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and tools.
- Excavate and backfill holes manually using shovels, picks, and other hand tools.
- Assist in potholing and daylighting existing utilities to ensure safe drilling operations.
- Mix drilling fluids (mud mixing) as directed to support HDD operations.
- Operate small equipment such as vacuum excavation units, tampers, and saws as needed.
- Restore job sites, including grading, raking, seeding, and laying sod.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, removing debris and unused materials.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety protocols to ensure a safe job site.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, HDD, or underground utilities is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including:
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Working in confined spaces or trenches when necessary.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- CDL Class A is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel based on project requirements.

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
