Full Job Description

A growing California Farmers agency is hiring an experienced, licensed Home and Auto Insurance Sales Producer. This is a remote position available to qualified candidates anywhere in California.

This is a commission-only position. The displayed $55,000–$100,000 range represents estimated annual commission earnings based on production. It is not a guaranteed salary, draw, or hourly wage.

The producer will focus on converting agency-provided leads into new homeowners and personal auto policies, with a strong emphasis on home-and-auto bundles.

Home and Auto Commission Structure

The following schedule applies only to eligible new-business homeowners and personal auto premium:

60% of the agency’s base commission on the first $50,000 of combined monthly home and auto premium
80% of the agency’s base commission on premium between $50,000 and $75,000
100% of the agency’s base commission on premium above $75,000
Commission tiers apply incrementally and reset each month
Policies must be issued and paid to qualify
Early cancellations may result in commission chargebacks

The producer’s percentage is calculated from the agency’s base commission. It does not include agency bonuses or other incentive compensation.

Monthly Bundle-Quality Bonus

Producers writing at least $50,000 in eligible monthly home and auto premium can earn:

$250 at a 40% home-and-auto bundle rate
$500 at a 50% bundle rate
$750 at a 60% or higher bundle rate

Both qualifying policies must be issued, paid and remain active for at least 60 days. Bonuses are paid after retention is verified.

Estimated annual commission earnings are approximately $55,000–$100,000 when producing between $75,000 and $120,000 in eligible monthly home and auto premium. Actual earnings depend on production, product mix, bundling, policy issuance and retention and are not guaranteed.

Other Products

This commission schedule applies only to eligible homeowners and personal auto policies. Landlord, life, commercial and other insurance products follow a separate written commission schedule provided before those products are sold.

Responsibilities

Respond quickly to agency-provided leads
Quote homeowners and personal auto insurance
Identify appropriate home-and-auto bundling opportunities
Explain coverage options clearly and accurately
Follow up consistently with prospective customers
Ask for the sale and complete new-business applications
Document activity accurately in agency systems
Meet monthly production, conversion and bundle goals
Maintain all licensing and compliance requirements

Requirements

Active California P&C or Personal Lines license
Previous Farmers agency and systems experience
Proven home and auto insurance sales results
Strong telephone closing and objection-handling skills
Verifiable personal-lines production history
Reliable internet connection
Secure and professional remote workspace
Ability to begin producing with minimal training

Initial Lead Period

Each producer receives 50 agency-paid home and auto leads during their first five business days.

Additional lead volume is released quickly based on response time, follow-up activity, closing percentage, written premium, bundle rate and policy quality.
