EMI is seeking a Certified Water and Wastewater Treatment System Operator. Engineering Management Inc. is a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in environmental management, infrastructure, and utilities. With a commitment to sustainability and innovative engineering solutions, we strive to deliver safe, reliable, and environmentally sound services to communities. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Water and Wastewater Treatment System Operator to join our team and help maintain the high standards of water quality for our clients.

Job Summary:
As a Certified Water and Wastewater Treatment System Operator at Engineering Management Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Your role will include monitoring, testing, maintaining, and optimizing treatment systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will play a crucial role in protecting public health and the environment by ensuring that water and wastewater are properly treated and safe for distribution or discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct routine sampling and testing of water quality parameters.
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment such as pumps, valves, meters, and chemical feeders.
Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including water quality data, equipment logs, and regulatory reports.
Adjust treatment processes based on test results and operational needs.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, EPD, and local guidelines) for water and wastewater systems.
Assist with emergency response procedures in the event of equipment malfunctions or system failures.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to optimize system performance and participate in facility upgrades or expansions.

Qualifications:

Certified Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator with current licensure [Minimum of Class III certification].
Prefer three years of experience in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems.
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including chemical treatment, biological processes, filtration, and disinfection.
Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, chemical dosing systems, and SCADA systems.
