Role Summary: Provides excellent customer service and service recovery. Responsible for effective and professional communication via telephone, patient call bells and face to face interactions with patients, families, visitors and staff. The Health Unit Coordinator is the hub of communication for the safety of the patient. Effectively multitasks which includes answering call lights, answering phones, maintains accurate computer skills, etc. Assists with unit projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported

Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information

Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected

Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort

Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred Education: Courses in medical terminology preferred. Comparable experience and skills also considered.
