Full Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant

The Woodbine Group is looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to be a key member of our team. The ideal candidate will be motivated and eager to learn as they develop a better understanding of the company and its processes.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Prepare and analyze standard and non-standard journal entries
Reconcile Bank Statements on a monthly basis
Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Review General Ledger activity for accuracy
Record and support the analysis of Intercompany transactions
Track Student Housing leases and payments
Support calculation and reporting of sales and occupancy taxes
Prepare and distribute various recurring reporting and other ad-hoc reports
Provide guidance to the staff regarding accounting questions or issues
Support other finance department functions including Cash Mgmt, AP, AR and Payroll
Perform other job-related tasks and projects when assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting/finance
Must be proficient working with Microsoft Excel
Hospitality Experience Preferred
Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is preferred
Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently and independently
Candidate must be an effective communicator with the ability to pursue self-development and excel within our team approach
